A new study using data from over 70,000 women has found that an optimistic attitude towards life and its challenges is correlated with a longer life. Controlling for interfering factors, the researchers found that the most optimistic women were 29% less likely to die than the least optimistic, and that they had lower incidences of stroke, infection, heart disease, and cancer.
