Recent research has shown why we may be more quick to blame others for their actions, instead of praise them, and it all comes down to the parts of the brain involved in each of those processes. A study from Duke University found that blame comes from an emotional part of the brain, while praise comes from a more logical brain area. The study co-author notes, “blame and credit… are not two sides of the same coin, but two different processes.”
